Every animal has their own personality, comfort level, and way of experiencing the world. Your session isn't about asking them to become something they're not. It's about giving them the space to be exactly who they are—and creating photographs that let you remember them that way.
Their Comfort Comes First.
A beautiful portrait should never come at the expense of the animal in front of my camera. Every Wild & Whiskered session is shaped around your companion—their personality, comfort, natural behavior, and what makes them uniquely them. Patience, flexibility, and their well-being always come first. If they've had enough, I stop. No photograph is worth unnecessary stress.
No Perfect Behavior Required.
Your dog doesn't need a perfect sit-and-stay. Your horse doesn't need to stand like a statue. Your bird may decide it has other plans entirely. That's okay. Some animals need time to investigate the camera. Some need breaks. Some are happiest moving, playing, exploring, or simply staying close to their person. I'll work with who they are—not against it. Sometimes the moments between the poses are the ones that tell their story best.
Unusual Companions Welcome.
Some companions require a different kind of session. Reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and other unique animals may need special consideration of temperature, handling, environment, and stress. I'll talk beforehand about their needs and normal behavior, and when appropriate, sessions can take place in your home—because sometimes the best studio is where they already feel safe.

01 — Tell Me About Them
Before anything is scheduled, I want to know about your companion—their personality, favorite things, quirks, comfort level, and what you're hoping to remember through these photographs.
02 — We'll Plan Together
We'll choose the location, environment, timing, and approach that make the most sense for your animal, together. This is also when we'll discuss any special considerations.
03 — The Session
I'll move at your animal's pace. There is time to settle in, explore, play, take breaks, change direction, and simply be themselves while I create a mixture of beautiful portraits and personality-filled moments.
04 — Your Photographs
After your session, you'll receive a private proof gallery featuring the strongest images from our time together. From there, you'll choose the portraits you love most for their final professional edit—preserving all the expressions, details, and little pieces of personality that make them them.
